1 killed in Issaquah construction accident

Issaquah, WA- State investigators have responded to a building site where a worker was killed in a construction accident Monday morning in Issaquah.
Police and medics were dispatched to the scene, near 7th Avenue NW and NW Gilman Boulevard, at about 9:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a man injured in a fall. The victim, a 46-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation found that the man, who worked for subcontractor Fairweather Masonry, was on elevated scaffolding working on the building’s brick façade when he fell. No one else was hurt in the accident.
The victim’s name was not immediately released, pending notification of his next of kin. A worker told Komo News that crews were ordered to shut down the work site after the accident. The accident is under active investigation.
